The $1000 fig tree

This Sicilian 33 tree will probably not bring a 1000.00 but whatever it does bring 50% will got to St Jude.
The listing will stat @10 pm. The starting bid will be 250.00 and run for 10 days. I hope this post is fine with the mods and @TorontoJoe .
It will be interesting to see what this one goes for to see if the price of Sicilian 33 stays high over multiple trees

Love the idea of a fellowship to snag the rare, wallet-busting trees and then share them around so everyone gets a taste (literally and figuratively 😄). Having the group sponsor that first big buy feels like the right kind of fig co-op!

Count me in for $200 if you need more folks. Can’t promise much on the grafting front yet - still at the “practice makes... slightly better” stage - but if there’s a tech angle to this operation, I’m your guy!

What even is that variety? Deep purple would be the only one that comes to mind as super rare.

This post makes me sad. I read about different varieties and made a wishlist based on their qualities and how I thought they would do well here, but in my excitement, I very naively didn’t take into consideration that there might be some very $$$ varieties in my WL. So, Fig Santa and his Elves, if you see one like this on my WL, feel free to just ignore it.

You never know, some people like passing around the rare ones. On the other hand you can always wait a year or two and they’ll pretty cheap.

You would be surprised of the amount of extremely generous people here.
There are many. 😁

I would like to piggyback on VJ’s post - love this idea of a fellowship! I’m new to this forum and new to fig growing - this kind of forum was exactly what I was looking for. Everyone seems to be respectful and always open to help.
Also count me in if you need another fellow!
