Fig season begins!

Finally season has arrived guys. The groundhog was way off this year, that little guy needs to go back to sleep.

So Friday after work I said to myself I don’t care it’s cold I’m building this damn greenhouse today but as I’m building this thing cold and frail, nostril leaking, wet shoes I’m saying to myself how many years am i gonna be doing for ? Geesh!! Then my other thought says get though this vito for the figs only you care about . Well, I did it I got though another year. Saturday morning I wake up looking at the greenhouse with a coffee then staring at my little 10 year old daughter, asked her “will you help daddy today?”. She’s like I gotcha dad haha . We orginezed the trees in the back scuffed the soil and got her to water all the plants and done. So much easier to have another set of hands. Hope everyone also has a headstart as well

I wish my daughter would help me with more stuff so I can teach her some of important things in life.

My favorite memories were helping my grandmother with the garden. I sure wish I had her touch with plants though! My great-grandmother named her Rosie and plants loved her...never seen anything like it. She could grow anything even from the tiniest cutting or leaf.

Since you have a nice thick frame, you could potentially add a second layer of plastic on the inside and create an air gap in between, which would provide better insulation and reduce condensation.

I second this ^ you seem to have a good inch or two in thickness. That gap of insulation would definitely help you on colder nights

That would be ideal my friend but too much work. I got the kids or the wife to creak it open for me before they go to school lol! Surprisingly the space heater does a great job heating the greenhouse. I’ve been doing this for years and reuse the sesame frame over and over again. I’m might be adding an exhaust vent, I’ve always thought to do but never end up do it. Gotta find one on amazon for cheap.
